This Flex adapter is the most complex processor based adapter for Express with firmware and update possibility via the built in USB.
This one is software controlled, no any additional wiring required, just plug it to your Flex, (and also connect Flex-Box that is now lying not next to but on the top of Flex to save space on your desk, and because of it is a fancy arrangement)
The adapter is updateable (has an USB port and compatible with our Express-updater software) in case of any changing. If MMS may put on more security, in the worst case you need to connect 2 additional wires to your Flex-box's outputs to keep it working.

Just a personal story ...
To be honest I didn't like Flex before. I hate its user manuals, the big contactacts on the thiny pins of ECU, etc... BUT, it is a completely different world since the tests with Express!
It is fast, 30/30 ECUs working I've tested on. For example on MJD 6JF it works on 13.2V with no problem and very fast, on Denso R2AX as well, but on EDC17CP06 too. (The last one has issues with direct connection sometime, but with Express connects 10/10)
It is more expensive than the 'regular' adapters, because of it is another category. It has a processor, a firmware, USB for updates, and has relative high production cost (don't mention development time and cost)
But it is sure it takes your workflows with Flex to a new level!
